CAN I GET A "weeeeepa!"..? What can I say about Don Guillo than hasn't been said already? Listen (or read up), if you are hungry and want a lot of delicious food for an incredibly reasonable price in a clean and friendly atmosphere, look no further...this is your place! You know what, if you are alive and need to consume food to survive, come here! Furthermore, if you want to spend money for quality AND quantity, come here! Basically, don't think about it any more and just come here! I lived in Colorado Springs for about a year and a half and every two weeks, like a culinary communion, I would stop at Don Guillo, order food for the entire family, and ensure that both my tummy and my heart were happy for the rest of the weekend. We've since moved to Charlotte and Don Guillo's food is STILL a topic of conversation (1+ years later at the time of this review). If I have anything "not positive" to say is that they should open a second location in Charlotte, NC!

Walked in and asked the receptionist for a recommendation for dinner. She opened the box of another order and suggested this, so I got it. I also ordered a passion fruit fruit drink and was quite happy with both! Very tasty food. The entree was $13, and the drink was $4.50. She included a couple of sauces with my order, and both were very flavorful and memorable. One was a white sauce type, and the other was a spicy sauce. I used them both! The outside of this little hole in the wall is easy to miss, and the parking lot is jam-packed with other businesses. There are a few tables inside, which were all full. My one complaint is that there was one very large chunk of just fat in my order. No meat, just fat. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but I don't really enjoy a mouthful of rubbery fat. Maybe some people do? I'm not sure, but I will likely be a returning customer!

I don't know much Spanish as much as I try. I'm dyslexic and I struggle with reading in general. The folks here are some of the nicest people I've ever met in town! Mama helped me pick from the menu and get settled at a table. I got the crazy fries with steak and some fried plantains. The salsa is the best I've ever had. The crazy fries are so good! Very large portion good for sharing! Wonderful lively atmosphere! I will def be back!!

This restaurant offered a good variety of Puerto Rican dishes. I had a passion fruit drink with the shrimp mofongo in garlic sauce. The mofongo and shrimp were good and the portion was generous. I was expecting the garlic sauce to be oil based but instead it was milk based. I didn't like the sauce. I also preferred the passion fruit juice to have a little more sweetness. The employee was friendly and the atmosphere was very much like back on the island. The dining room space is limited and also the parking lot.
